7 days Minus 3 days.

I still reported to work from Holy Monday until Holy Wednesday but it’s still Holy Week. (Quite ironic because our water meter outside the house was stolen while we were sound asleep.) It’s the time to contemplate and a time to have a 4-day vacation.

A 4-day vacation…at home.

Things have changed. I usually look forward to spending the holy week with my relatives in the province but this time I just wanted to stay at home.

I spent the other days in hibernation and I indulged myself to long hours of slumber. Tomorrow’s back to reality.

Aside from eating and sleeping, I’m into Gossip Girl (in line with the series that I wasn’t able to finish i.e. Heroes & Prison Break) but my dvd was damaged so I have to buy a new one.

I finished reading the book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. I love the lead character, Christopher. How the story revolved around autism, family matters and reality. It was really artistically delivered by Mark Haddon.

I also watched Atonement. I can say that it’s a sad movie. I almost wanted to cry. But I would prefer to read the book because I want more details. It’s so sad to have a sister like Briony Tallis. You should watch it if you like dramatic movies.

I’ve also read Pillowcases’ blog about compliments and I wanted to make a comment about that. There will always be people who would give insincere compliments and would just want to know how you would react. I’ve encountered people like that. They would simply laugh and tell you that the other person believed what they’ve said. It’s just like making fun of people. Their silliness is not really worth your attention, isn’t it? When you’re not sincere, it’s much better not to say anything at all. It’s just the same as not uttering anything when you don’t have anything good to say.

What Lack of Sleep Can Do To You.

March 15, 2008. I marked this date on my calendar.

This ought to serve as a reminder that I should get enough sleep. Not only a lesson for giving myself enough rest but also a cue to lessen the carelessness on my part. Before the crazy incident happened, I even called a friend if he was able to keep my camera because I can’t remember where I placed it. The next thing, I was going up and down the escalator like a fool because I almost lost my favorite red-starred wallet with ATM card, rosary, pay slips and payment (in cash) from the articles I contributed the past issues. It was only my intention to get rid of my sleepiness so I went out of my office to buy some caffeine. Thank God because a very kind-hearted and honest security officer surrendered my wallet. I almost lost hope because there was a mall sale and there were quite a number of people leisurely loitering around. I was able to get it completely two days after so I promised myself to be more aware of my actions (never be absent-minded even if I lack sleep) because there might not be another chance like that.

Still my lucky day.

Excess: This same day, I officially signed the contributors’ list. I’m making an extra income from writing. Thanks to the people who believe in me. This means so much to me ( closed eyes with matching award-winning speech, lol ). By the way, if there are also illustrations you want me to render, I am very much willing to submit. I am trying to work so hard because I don’t have any overtime pay and I am such a timid employee who’s having a hard time to advertise herself on her present job. Oh well, where can I find confidence?

I Want More Time For This.

Yesterday, I bought 4 dvds. The one I got so lured is Across the Universe. Today, I watched Sweeney Todd. I liked the effects and the acting. It's also musical but I am not much a fan of serial killing. But I guess the movie is trying to say that we should believe in our instincts and learn to forgive because doing revenge will not bring us any good. Every revenge will also have an inevitable end. I think that's the moral of the story. You might also want to watch it. I haven't watched Atonement. Maybe I could watch it next weekend. I also wasn't able to watch Heroes Season2. I will keep it first because I haven't finished Season1.

A Magical Mystery Trip & Strawberries.

Across the Universe is a trip - a magical mystery trip that’ll blow your mind if you’re willing to go along for the wild, psychedelic ride. You have to be totally open for the experience in order to appreciate and get lost in the weird, wonderful world Julie Taymor creates onscreen in this vibrant celebration of Beatles songs and the 60s. http://movies.about.com/od/acrosstheuniverse/fr/universe091807.htm

across the universe

You will eventually love the characters:Jude (Jim Sturgess) & Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood). Supporting characters were also good in portraying their roles. It's basically a love story that happened during the 60's and how the story started from innocence of the characters until they became mature and aware of their situation. I suggest that you watch it if you're a Beatles' fan and a musical movie lover with lots of graphics and effects. I agree that the Strawberry Fields Foreverver stands out among the other scenes because of the symbolism of protest against war.

Perhaps love.

I love attending weddings.

I love hearing two people exchange their “I do’s.” I also love it every time the groom serenades his bride during the reception… just like the one I’ve attended today. My friend just got married and I envy him and his wife for having the courage to leave singlehood.

As always, I envy those people who go out of their way just to be together regardless of the trials that they may face as a couple. Wedding is only for one day. Marriage is a lifetime commitment.

I love weddings.

But I am so afraid of being sited on that scenario. I am afraid that after the wedding day, I will be expected to do my part as the wife base on the promises I will make during the ceremony. At my age, I can say that I’m supposed to be ready to settle down. I already found my man and I know that he will be a responsible husband but how come I am not likely prepared to take another step in my life?

Or is it just fear that’s hindering me from accepting the fact that I should already leave the kind of life that I have right now?

It is too risky. I will be leaving my comfort zone once again. I will be given a new responsibility. I don’t know if I will be a good wife or a good mother. There are so many questions running inside my head.

But ask me if I want to get married…of course I do. But as much as possible, I don’t want a grand wedding. I just want it to be simple yet solemn… with the man I wish to love until I grow old.

Perhaps love will give me the go signal. Maybe it’s not yet the right time…
