On The Eve of My 26th Birthday

I was supposed to make my wish list last week but we had to engulf ourselves to work because of the deadline. Imagine, I was in the office last Saturday, Sunday & Monday, a declared holiday. I was really damn busy. Forgetting that you need to pee on time was also an indication that I was terribly loaded with lots of work. Lol. Since I faced the computer in the office for long hours, I no longer want to sit in front of my home pc that’s why I wasn’t able to blog for the past week.
So I made a wish list on the eve of my 26th birthday. I could still patiently wait ‘til my next birthday for those (or some of those) wishes to come true. And Christmas is only a few months away…I would still accept gifts… hehe.

Digital SLR. (Nikon or Canon)
Laptop.
DSL Internet Connection.
1000 pesos load.
DVD Player.
Magic Sing.
Universidad’s UST black & gold jacket. (medium)
A pair of shoes.
A good book.
Yellow Stuffs.
More giraffe stuff toys.
First zebra stuff toy.
Sunny day.
No typhoon on my birthday & on the 25th of August.
Mom’s Spaghetti.
Dad’s Arrival.
Celebration with my equally-pretty friends.
Kiss & hug from my friends.
More friends.
Much-awaited letter from a friend.
Papa Piolo / McDreamy.
Smile from…toot!
Dinner with…toot!
Bonding with…toot!

And of course… Good health. Happy lovelife & more birthdays to come…

I’ll be turning 26 but as I’ve said, I still feel like a 16 year old. I’m still excited.
It is a gift and blessing from God. One reason why I should celebrate my birthday.

Yellow Faded to Violet

(Title) Line taken from lifesharer’s True Colors. Try to read her complete poem.

What would you do if you’re torn between the feeling of happiness and the need to toe the line? Like complying to your own self growth. You’re happy with the people around you yet you’re life’s boxed up. Stagnant.

But this is life. Life’s full of risks. Life’s a gamble.
Some would want to take the risk. Some would want to gamble.
You’re left there…thinking of what’s the best thing to do.
You want a surcease? You want to stop the people whom you’re getting comfortable being friends with? You want to tell them not to leave? But it’s their life. And you reckon the thought of wanting them to grow. Be a better person.
And you know that one day, you’ll be leaving too.
So for now…you’ll just let yellow fade to violet...

...and wait till you see yellow again.

4 Stories

Brighter than sunshine.
Start of day. I woke up feeling so fresh, light, rejuvenated, and hyper. I couldn’t control myself from smiling, greeting and talking to every person who meets my eyes. It was actually my normal self. And I miss that. I would want every single day to be like this. I was ecstatic.

The “butt in guy”.
Before noon. So I thought I could have a “happy” day or be affected by my morning bliss but I really got upset by this certain guy who kept on butting in every conversation. I was the victim today. He kept on doing that to the others. He actually butted in 3 times. He called the attention of the persons I’ve been talking to. I let the first time pass but the 2nd and third…damn, he just tested my patience. I couldn’t help but react. How about a minute of waiting? He could have waited for his turn. That kind of act was very rude & impolite.

Hello brain! Where are you?
Evening. I was inside the elevator when somebody asked me if my boyfriend’s going to drop by and fetch me. I answered none. Instead of no. You should have heard our 2 lined dialogue. It was hilarious. Very funny. I just laughed when he corrected my reply. It’s such a shame when you’re sometimes caught up by your absent-mindedness. I was thinking of something else that time. I should have smiled and didn’t say a word. But it was too late.

My friend’s friends.
End of day. My college friend and I went to that isolated mall somewhere in Guadalupe. That boring Rockwell Mall. If I’ll be given the choice, I wouldn’t want to go back there (lol!) But I was just too excited to see the INK (Illustrador ng Kabataan) exhibit. So I met my friend’s friends. At least, I had fun. At least I still ended my day with a smile.

Box of Crayons

It was like opening a box of crayons. Even if you were cognizant of what’s inside the box, you still feel a tinge of excitement. You saw red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, black and white. You saw the box but still you were undecided of what colors you were about to select. Then you started choosing the shades that you like. Stared and played with them. Then you doodled a bit.

I opened a box of crayons and you picked some colors. You just added life to a blank paper.

I just realized that today.

It was just 50+ Random Infos. Just a few colors of my life. It was a choice that you made when you picked some colors and showed me that it was worth opening the box.

Thanks for opening your box of crayons, too.

Everyday, I bring along a cabinet with me ( my bag. inside it you will find everything I need for the day including large containers of lotion, hair tonic, powder etc. imagine how heavy my bag is)
Lastly,
I declare my own holiday everytime I have dysmenorrhea ( guess why I'm absent TODAY ) lol.

Special Department

“Do you have enemies? Good! That means you have stood up for something, sometime in your life.” –Winston Churchill

I am not saying that having enemies is a good thing. But making a stand and fighting for something, sometime in our life matters. That means that we are not only followers. We are not ignorant followers because questioning is a sign of awareness.
Today, that hepatitis vaccination caused so much stress to people who wanted some clarity. There was absolute confusion. The person in charge should have oriented the employees before giving vaccination. A lot of employees were quite confused as to which will be given to them. Proper information regarding one’s health is very important. It is not something that one should just take for granted.
I admired the SD (Special Department) people for their courage and effort on inquiring regarding the procedures. They have every right to ask and be given valid informations.

Cynthia Alexander...

...is Joey Ayala's sister.

I was chatting with my colleague about the song “Comfort in Your Strangeness” by Cynthia Alexander. I overreacted and laughed so hard when I found out that she is Joey Ayala’s sister. Funny. I was really clueless. I already knew her as a good singer for a long time. I’ve been listening to her other songs and it was only today that my colleague said that information to me.

I learned something new today. And I am always thankful for the things that I get to know each day. Talking to people / interacting with them provide us with relevant learnings and experiences. Reading books and blogs, surfing the internet, watching television and listening to the radio could be other sources of information.

Fashion Police

Is it really necessary to wear uniform in the office?

A large amount of my salary was deducted 2 years ago because of 4 pairs of uniforms. Tell me I’m stupid for not wearing any of them. I survived. The HR didn’t give me any memo for not wearing my uniforms. I maybe so “pasaway” or hard-headed but I really think that there’s no need to wear such in the office. We’re creative people. We rarely face clients. I think it would be cool to wear what we’re comfortable with. We wouldn’t want ourselves to be limited by this office tradition. Our work is not even affected by the set of clothes that we wear.

For me, wearing what you want is a form of expression.

But we still need to follow the rules. Whoever wants a job… stays. Whoever stays… follows the rules. So I attended the meeting regarding the uniform’s designs and colors. The majority were given the chance to choose what we would like to wear. To our dismay, none of them were chosen by the committee(?). I really have no idea who’s in charge of the uniforms.

Anyway, what’s the point of choosing and suggesting if other people won’t consider any of your proposals? If there’s one policy that I would like to change in the office…I would want them to ditch the usage of old-fashioned uniforms!
