Running After Time...

...and catching my breath.
Imagine a life undergoing so much haste. Everything is done in rapid action or motion... This is my life now.
I noticed recently how often I mumble regarding time. How time flies so fast. When I was a child, the average hours I spent on doing my extra activities outside school and the time I spent with my family are quite tolerable. When I set off to college, I still have excess hours to make “tambay” and long hours of “telebabad”. Long hours of relaxation and merriment. After my college graduation, I felt that days passed by so quickly. Months turned easily into years. And boom! Four years after graduation, I decided to leave a job with six extra hours before midnight. Quite long enough to deal with my uncanny passions and reveling. Now I have a new job, still not adjusted to the long hours of travel and sometimes obviously weary as I reach home because only a few hours were left before I finally say hello to a brand new day. Imagine how many hours I would travel from Ortigas to Caloocan City. Also imagine the expected traffic I experience everyday. So I find myself extending my night and staying up ‘til 2 in the morning to be able to do at least any of my extra activities. Seemingly unbelievable because I am such a sleepyhead. Lately, I often tell myself not to indulge in too much sleep because it would just be a waste of time and I have lots of things to do. Blame it on the modern technology because I am already a dsl subscriber. And I am a computer addict. Combining them would mean that I have an unlimited opportunity to surf the net. There are so many websites I would like to visit. So many tutorials I would like to pay a serious attention to. Of course, I would still want to draw because I am an artist and just don’t want to be tagged only as a graphic artist. I would want to be tagged as both. A creative person who can draw and at the same time manipulate or design effectively on the computer. In addition to that, I am such a sucker for books. I would really like to spend some time in reading a very interesting novel or poems that would perhaps enhance my writing skills. I would also want to watch dvd's. Most importantly, I would still want to catch up with the lost time and be connected with the people so dear to me. But I couldn’t do all of them at the same time.
Because I have no time.
I don’t have enough time.
I am always running after time.
And my eyes, probably if given the chance to speak would rant and request me to give them some rest. My eyes…I know you’re both tired but bear with me.
Nevertheless, I have to accept my present situation because this is part of reality. I am still working on it and still trying to adjust.
This is just an evidence that I have aged. I am not young anymore. This is the world of adult people. Lots of things to do but provided only with little time.
I just want to make things clear. I am not complaining or trying to be eccentric as I may have probably sounded. I am just experiencing alteration in my life once again. So bear with me. Bear with me. But I am still thankful that I have a decent job. This is really a new challenge in my life. But at least there’s a consolation in my present work because even if I decide to stay up late, I don’t have to wake up so early. Thanks to my flexible schedule. That’s the least I could tell to solace myself. *wink*

The Power of Words

I really appreciate this encouraging comment from Nutty Boy
(comment to Big Girl's Don't Cry entry)

Every step in life is sealed with decision, and its either you make it or you break it... you may be alone in threading on the direction you want, but remember that we are just a step behind you... and when you look forward to your dream with uncertainty, try to turn your head around and call out our name.

Makes me want to cry again...
