Rendezvous
The spot where resources flourish.
Invigorate me with your affection.
Meet me at the great wall…
The spot where fortified barriers repel aggressors.
Protect me with your guileless intention.
Meet me at the forest’s canopy…
The spot where leaves cover the blinding rays of the sun.
Keep me sheltered and unharmed.
Meet me on the mountain’s peak…
The spot where you can breathe deeply.
Inhale the essence of sweet discernment.
Meet me at the ocean’s boundary…
The spot where the water cleanses.
Take me to a place of utmost purity.
Meet me on the undulating clouds..
The spot where heaven and earth touch.
Leap with me in the sky and never cease to smile.
Meet me with the stars above…
The spot where wishes reside.
See the light dazzling in my eyes.
Meet me inside your racing heart…
The place where you and I know exists.
Stay with me until fate says you should stop.
Meet me in my dream…
The spot where every moment seems real.
Create a transient world and runaway with me.

One Knight in Shining Armor = One Lovely Princess
I used the quote as my status in yahoo messenger then somebody asked me if I’m pregnant. No, I’m not. I just want to delve on the unexpected things that happen in our lives. Nobody escapes from the reality that a poignant experience will always leave a mark on our being and would haunt us forever. How a simple “yes” or “no” would eventually make a difference.
When I was young, I used to believe in fairy tales. I used to believe where one knight in shining armor corresponds to one lovely princess. Then they will live happily ever after. But as I grow older, I found out the complexities of loving. Why people fall in love… the next thing they realize, they’re in love again. I start to question myself, is it really love? Is it really possible to love 2 persons at the same time? Or is it just really human nature?
I’ve asked myself so many times. Yet I couldn’t seek for answers. For me, love is one thing you can hardly understand. You get a ride on the rollercoaster. You go through the ups and downs of loving. The emotions gush through your whole being and yet you couldn’t give any explanations for surrendering to the perplex feeling.
As I age, I tried to stand up for what is right, for the morality that I’ve known and tried to follow the rules of the church and society. Now, what should I consider when choosing what is right or wrong? And what does it got to do with love I’m talking about from the very start?
This is a very delicate matter. My stand and belief would somehow be questioned. This would gather so much judgment from people who barely know my friend. And other people who have the same experience as well.
This is all about my childhood friend whom I’ve known since I was 6 years old. We also used to be playmates and we grew up sharing almost the same reasoning, beliefs, and expectations in life. We both dreamt that we’d meet our prince charming. Marry a guy we really love and have a family of our own. But now she’s working in Dubai. Trying to live in the present. Facing the consequences of the risks she took and sacrifices she made in exchange for her moral beliefs just because of love. Never did she expect she’d fall for a married guy. A happily married guy with one child.
I was so surprised when she confessed to me about the affair. I thought it would just be ephemeral and I even asked her to ignore the guy for the relationship would not do any good to her. It would even make her life so complicated. The feelings would just be intense if they still see each other. I know she tried. For so long, I couldn’t ponder why she couldn’t leave the guy. So she introduced him to me. I came to know the guy and I learned that he’s a good man. I even asked him what he really wanted from my friend. He told me that he did not expect what had happened. It just happened. I know he did not take advantage of her. My friend as well for she didn’t ask for anything in return. It’s just the love and friendship they both wanted. But what happened to the morals we used to know? What happened to the time when we used to choose the good side?
I know her so well. She’s not the type of person who would step on others and would consider her own happiness. She’s not so desperate to cling into someone whom she knows she could possibly ruin a stable relationship. Not in her dreams she’d wreck a home.
But not in her dreams she’d inadvertently fall for a guy she would never have.
She had several relationships in the past and I know the struggles she had on finding the man she wanted to be with all her life. Though it’s too late for she can’t call him her own. I witnessed the times she cried because she can’t control her feelings. The times she wanted to spend time with the guy but just can’t.
However, I also witnessed the time she boldly carried a smile on her face for the little time they spent with each other.
I haven’t experienced it yet. But what if the same thing happens to me? Would I also be like her wandering on a barren land? Subtly accepts how the unexpected will change me for the rest of my life. Although we all know that waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing what to do is the worst kind of suffering. Oftentimes, she didn’t know what to do. I was with her all throughout. I cried with her. I know that they both wanted to be with each other. They were both stranded in the wrong time, taking into account every moment until she finally decided to take the job offer in Dubai. There, she still struggles for the time she wanted to be with him. The nostalgia of being near him. That’s all she can do. For love can withstand all her fears. She might lose him forever. But in her heart, she wouldn’t trade the happiness she felt with him.
I am not judgmental with the decisions and choices that she made with her life not because we’re friends. For I have seen how love could sometimes make you vulnerable. For love could sometimes be so selfish but worth the risk. I could almost hear myself say that I admire her for her courage. For taking the risk I never thought she’d take. She may have been so scared for all the judgment for the non-conformity of her actions. For she would have lived a life full of what “ifs” if she didn’t follow her heart. He may not be her knight in shining armor but at least she sincerely felt that she’s a princess.
The expected is just the beginning. The unexpected is what changes our lives…
